As part of the implementation of its 2019 Operational Action Plan (PAO 2019), the Ministry of Economy and Finance initiated a workshop to raise awareness among companies in the State Portfolio on the importance of their listing on the Regional Stock Exchange (BRVM). The Minister of Economy and Finance, Adama Coulibaly through his deputy chief of staff, indicated at the opening of the said workshop that the participation of the population in the IPO of a company allows both to achieve economic and political goals. “This workshop, which brings together Stock Exchange professionals and Directors of State Portfolio Companies, therefore appears to be an opportunity to present the advantages linked to admission to listing on the Regional Stock Exchange (…)” , he said. The Executive Secretary of the PDESFI, Fanny Siak, for her part, insisted that the Stock Exchange provides the essential link between economic agents seeking to invest their savings (households, individual or institutional investors), and companies seeking financing ensuring their growth and development. “It is therefore important to reflect on the levers that can facilitate the admission of companies in the State Portfolio to listing on the Stock Exchange,” he explained. The Director General of the BRVM, Amenounve Edoh Kossi explained that the admission of the said companies to the stock market allows, among other things, to improve their governance, reduce systemic risk and develop popular shareholding.
