Glo-Djigbé welcomed a new stage of the African Buyers Programme (ABP),
an initiative led by Afreximbank.
The aim is to stimulate trade on the continent.
For two days, buyers from several
countries, such as Nigeria, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Ethiopia, the
Tanzania, Mauritius and other markets have explored the industrial potential of
the GDIZ and the opportunities for the supply of products made in
Africa. The vision of the African Buyers Programme is to bring buyers closer together
qualified as African and Afro-Caribbean manufacturers capable of offering a
competitive production. The program is based on a strategy to implement
direct network: guided tours in industrial areas developed by
ARISE IIP, immersion in production capacities, targeted meetings and
contacts designed to promote lasting partnerships. The objective is clear:
strengthen regional value chains and accelerate the dynamics of
intra-African trade.
On the first day, Mr. Faki Adjé, director Deputy General of SIPI-BENIN S.A., presented the infrastructures, the logic of investment adopted and the production capacities available. Les buyers then visited strategic units to measure the extent of local know-how.
The second day was devoted to new
technical visits, followed by B2B meetings between GDIZ manufacturers
and program participants. These exchanges made it possible to identify
areas of collaboration, specific procurement needs and
possibilities of integrating several companies in the area into chains of
regional or continental values.
