Viva Technology and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) announced on Monday, May 2, 2022 the top 45 start-ups that have been shortlisted for the first edition of the AfricaTech Awards. Among these start-ups, we can count several companies from the ECOWAS zone.

The two partners, Viva Technology and IFC have jointly published the list of the 45 emerging start-ups with the greatest potential for impact in Africa to compete at the AfricaTech Awards 2022. This pan-African initiative, supported by Proparco, aims to recognize and support emerging start-ups that drive innovation and development across the continent in three main sectors – Climate Tech, FinTech and Health Tech.

The 45 start-ups (15 in each of the three award categories) were selected from a total pool of more than 300 entries. The final winners (one per category) will be announced at the first AfricaTech Awards ceremony, which will take place during the 2022 edition of Viva Technology from 15 to 18 June in Paris. The three winning startups will benefit from access to the networks of Viva Technology, IFC and category sponsors, as well as some one-on-one meetings with tech industry executives and executives.
