46 statistician economist engineers, from the 30th promotion of Statistician Economist Engineers of the National School of Statistics and Applied Economics, ENSEA, were baptized this Friday, July 26 in Abidjan.
A promotion made up of a Senegalese, 3 Beninese, 3 Togolese, 7 Cameroonians, 4 Burkinabè, 1 Nigerien, 1 Malagasy and 26 Ivorians received theoretical and practical training between September 2016 and July 2019 in Côte d'Ivoire.
Kouao Kadio Lionel, on behalf of his peers, expressed their gratitude for this training of excellence. A training that makes them, today, men and women of value on whom Africa can count for its development, he said.
For Kouadio Hugues, Director General of ENSEA, the Statistical and Economist Engineer diploma is awarded after a demanding three-year training, after a bachelor's degree in mathematics or economics or two years of preparatory classes.
" These 46 new diplomas are now capable of carrying out quantitative studies in various fields such as demography, economics, finance, management, evaluation or economic policy management. They are now equipped with skills to define needs of economic and social knowledge, to analyze complex structures and to contribute to the fundamental orientations of development policies ", he specified.
Sponsor of this 30th promotion, the Secretary of State to the Prime Minister, in charge of the Budget and the State Portfolio, Moussa Sanogo, himself a former resident of this school, was delighted with the success of "these young Africans ". Before saying the role they must soon play in the development of African economies.
" Your countries are waiting for you with great impatience. We are facing extremely important challenges. We need skills, ingenuity to make us increase our internal resources and reduce external resources to a minimum. We need to significantly improve our productivity to achieve the structural transformation of our economies. And this requires the transformation of our raw materials. We are in a hurry for you to be on the labor market to meet the needs of our public and private administrations and international organizations " he says.
The National School of Statistics and Applied Economics, ENSEA is today in its 30th promotion of Statistician Economist Engineers with nearly 1000 Africans trained in the sector. A sector open since 1987 in Abidjan to provide training previously provided at ENSAE in Paris.
