The French satellite communications group Eutelsat (ETL.PA) and the Tanzanian company Azam Media announced the signing of a new multi-annual agreement on several transponders, in order to extend Azam Media's pay television offer in East Africa, according to a press release issued on Wednesday.

Eutelsat and Azam Media have been working together for a long time, which has allowed them to develop an important and lasting presence in the field of direct satellite television (DTH) in sub-Saharan Africa. Today, the main television platform offers more than 130 chains. By strengthening its collaboration with Eutelsat, Azam Media draws taking full advantage of satellite technology to offer an experience high quality and uninterrupted television to millions of viewers, including in the most remote and poor regions served.

“The addition of two new transponders to our capacity current on EUTELSAT 7C is a testament to our commitment to providing an experience visual superior to our customers,” said Jacob Joseph, CEO of AzamTV.
