$116 million. It is the total value of the revenue generated by the shipments of coffee on the international market through the sector Rwandan at the end of the 2024/2025 marketing campaign. The information is reported on Saturday 8 last November by the local daily The New Times, quoting Claude Bizimana, managing director of the National Council for Agricultural Exports (NAEB), who specifies that this envelope is up by 47.39% compared to the campaign previous one ($78.7 million), setting a new record for the sector.

Exports of coffee to Rwanda generated more than 116 million dollars (about 168 billion Rwandan francs) during the fiscal year 2024/2025, up by 48% compared to the previous year, said the National Council for Agricultural Export Development.

These results mean that Rwanda has slightly exceeded the goal of $115.5 million in coffee export earnings by 2029, as part of the fifth strategic plan for the transformation of agriculture (PSTA 5), covering the period 2024/25 to 2028/29, specified the Director General of the Council Claude Bizimana during a press conference.

He attributed these results to several factors, including a combination of higher production and better international prices.

“Coffee production reached around 21,000 tons, an increase of 25% compared to the previous year,” he said to know.

“At the same time, the average export price went from 4.8 dollars per kilogram in 2023/24 to 5.66 dollars in 2024/25, an increase of 18%, which boosted revenue”, specified the person in charge.
