Alassane Ouattara returned to the implementation of the Eco, the single currency of the
ECOWAS on the sidelines of the recent UK-Africa Summit.
The Ivorian president did not go from the back of the spoon to give his opinion on the divergent noises around
the Eco, the single currency wanted by ECOWAS. Asked by a journalist, he replied:
"There is no disagreement at the level of the Heads of State, they have been informed and we have been congratulated by the
Ghana and other countries. I am very proud of this development. It is historic what has been done. What matters to me
it is the decision of the Heads of State," he said. Not without warning latecomers or opponents of
this project: "We will form the ECO with all the countries that meet the conditions for convergence". .
These remarks of the Ivorian Head of State come a few days after a decision of the Ministers of Finance
of six English currency as announced by Alassane Ouattara to the French President, during his recent visit to Abidjan.
