The International Finance Corporation (IFC) and a group of African and European institutions launched this Monday, March 21, 2022, the Alliance for Entrepreneurship in Africa. This initiative aims to support the private sector, entrepreneurship and the development of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) across the continent.

Several African, European, multilateral and bilateral institutions have joined hands to support the development of the private sector in Africa. Members of the Alliance have signed the protocol that will govern the operation of the Alliance. IFC will provide the secretariat for the Alliance and will contribute to the coordination of its activities and its implementation, in partnership with the French Treasury.

The Alliance for Entrepreneurship in Africa will pool and direct the technical and financial resources of its members to improve the business climate in Africa and support the development and success of SMEs, owned companies by women and young entrepreneurs.
