Burkina Faso welcomes, from 24 to 27 November 2025, the 22 VERSA annual days of African Association of Bank Lawyers and Financial Institutions (AJBEF). An event coincides with 25 â anniversary of the institution.

“Banking governance: the essential role of “legal direction” is the theme chosen for the 22 ᵉˢ annual AJBEF days. The opening ceremony took place on Tuesday 25 November 2025 and chaired by the Minister in charge of Justice, Me Rodrigue Bayala, represented by his chief of staff Bepoadi Sinini. These days mobilize a hundred participants from 10 different countries.

According to Jean Léandre Sawadogo, president of AJBEF Burkina Faso, digitalization and the internalization of banking activities, solid governance and transparent has become the key to customer trust and investors, in a constantly changing environment, marked by financial innovation. For the latter, “this is how the management legal plays a determined role. Beyond simply complying with standards and Anticipating risks, she advises senior management, ensures compliance and actively participates in the development of a responsible strategy and durable. Bank lawyers are also key players in stability and credibility of the financial sector.”
