With a real GDP growth rate of 3.4% in 2019, Africa's economic performance is expected to exceed 4% in 2021. According to the African Development Bank (AfDB) which has published its 2020 report on the continent's economic outlook.

According to the AfDB, 06 of the 10 fastest growing economies in the world are now in Africa. These are Rwanda (8.7%), Côte d'Ivoire (7.4%), Ethiopia (7.4%), Ghana (7.1%), Tanzania (6.8%) and Benin (6.7%).

The pan-African financial institution also says that for the first time in a decade, growth is largely the result of investment, especially in infrastructure, reports rfi.fr.
