The Togolese National Assembly has taken a step forward significant in the fight against illicit financial flows. The country is equipped with a new legal arsenal against illicit financial flows and the financing the proliferation of weapons.

Deputies adopted, at the sixth sitting plenary the draft law on the fight against money laundering, the financing of terrorism and the proliferation of weapons of destruction massive. The text was passed by an absolute majority of the parliamentarians present, under the chairmanship of Professor Komi Selom Klassou and in the presence of Ministers for Finance and Relations with Parliament. This vote is in response to the need to strengthen the country's legislative shield against practices that undermine the foundations of the state.

The new Togolese law wants to be the tool strategic to counter these scourges. According to the Honourable Aklesso Atcholi, president of the UNIR majority parliamentary group, this text is essential for “protect the Togolese economy, sustainably strengthen national security and maintaining credibility, responsibility, and respectability international countries of the country”.
