TotalEnergies announced on Tuesday the signing of a contract with the French data center operator Data4 for the supply of renewable electricity at its sites in Spain, starting in January 2026 and for 10 years, with a total volume of 610 GWh.

“TotalEnergies will power Data4's installations with renewable electricity produced by wind and solar farms Spanish with a capacity equivalent to 30 MW and soon entering production,” the company said. The energy company presents this contract to stable consumption profile as an offer from “Clean Firm Power”, i.e. a supply adjusted to customer needs over time of the contract.

The partnership covers the period 2026-2035 and is aimed at sites Spanish from Data4. The company, created in 2006 and active in France, Italy, in Spain, Poland, Germany and Greece, indicates that it plans to invest nearly 2 billion euros by 2030 to develop its centers in Spain.

Data4 highlights the acceleration of electrical needs linked to digital technology and AI. “We expect capacity to triple energy required for all data centers in Spain by 2030", commented François Sterin, operations manager at Data4, adding that “this type of contract allows Data4 to not only respond to growing demand but also to position Madrid as one of the most attractive digital hubs in Europe.”
