The Egyptian construction and real estate sector has become the the first recipient of foreign direct investment (FDI). According to Hossam Heiba, CEO of General Authority for Investment and free zones (mso-bidi-font-family:arial; background: #FFE400 “>GAFI ), this sector Attracts 35.8 billion dollars in fiscal year 2023/2024, mainly contributed by the historic Ras El Hekma agreement.

He attributed this growth to the improvement of investor feeling and to the continuous urban development efforts of the state.

Heiba a indicated that “the real estate sector is a pillar of the strategy of economic development of Egypt.” He also emphasized the role of GAFI in policy development of investment and in offering tailor-made incentives to improve the competitiveness of the sector, which he described as a key driver of the economy national.
