An official statement issued by the Presidency at Ghana announces that Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama ordered this Saturday the immediate recall of Mohammed Baba Jamal Ahmed, known as Baba Jamal, from his duties as High Commissioner of Ghana to the Republic Federal Government of Nigeria.

The presidential statement states that the decision by the President intervenes following allegations of incitement of voters, including suspicions of vote buying, which occurred during the primary of National Democratic Congress (NDC) organized on the same day in the Ayawaso East district, in which Baba Jamal took part as candidate.
The press release also recalls that a statement by the Secretary General of NDC indicates that: “the party has begun its own investigations into the allegations. from the primary school years.”
The Presidency announced that the recall of Baba Jamal would take effect without delay. The Minister of Foreign Affairs has been instructed to take all the administrative and diplomatic measures necessary in order to implement this directive.
