The General Directorate of The Treasury and Public Accounting of Côte d'Ivoire obtained on Monday, September 16, 2019, an amount of 54.999 billion FCFA (or 82.499 million euros)  on the financial market of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU) following its simultaneous issuance 91-day Treasury Bonds (BAT) and 3-year  Treasury Equivalent Bonds (OAT), announced the heads of the UMOA-Titres agency based in Dakar.

The amount put up for auction was CFAF 50 billion. At the end of the operation, the WAMU-Securities Agency recorded 98.577 billion CFA francs of global bids from investors, i.e. a coverage rate of the amount put up for auction of 197.16%. On the amount of tenders, the Ivorian public treasury retained 54.999 billion FCFA and rejected 43.578 billion FCFA, i.e. an absorption rate of 55.79%.

The weighted average rate for 91-day TAOs was 4.45% and the marginal rate was 4.49%. As for the average return, it stood at 4.50%.

For OAT, the weighted average price was 9815 and the marginal price was 9800. For its part, the weighted average return is 6.39%.

According to the WAMU-Securities agency, the BAOs issued are redeemable on the first working day following the maturity date set at 16 December 2019.

Interest is payable in advance and deducted from the nominal value of the vouchers, which is one million FCFA.

For 3-year OAT, their repayment  will be made on the first working day following the due date set for September 17, 2022. As for the payment of interest, it will be made at a rate of 5.70% per year from the first year.
