On Monday, February 16, 2026, an ex-commander of Retired French Special Forces appeared before the Court of Repression Economic Offences and Terrorism (CRIET) in Benin. He is being sued with a warrant of deposit.

Three foreign citizens including a French officer in the retreat continued before CRIET in Benin. He is a former commander of a special forces unit in France and two other nationals heard by the judges of the Criminal Chamber. At the helm, the ex-officer of the French Army does not recognize the facts brought against him. The defendant confides that he arrived in Benin more than three years ago for reasons professionals after he became an entrepreneur. At the beginning, he affirms that he was under a contract for a few months with a company and that he had to Afterwards return to France.
