On Monday, February 23, 2026, the Minister of Business foreign nationals, Karamoko Jean Marie Traoré chaired a webinar dedicated to presentation of the “Diaspora Bond” project, a new government initiative Burkinabe.

The “Diaspora Bond” project aims to strengthen the mobilization of resources from the Burkinabe diaspora for financing structuring development sectors. Indeed, the “Diaspora Bonds” are bonds issued by the State and specially designed for Burkinabe living abroad by offering them the opportunity to invest directly in the economic and social development of Burkina Faso. The initiative is led by the Ministry of Economy and Finances, in collaboration with Vista Group Holding and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Exchanges during the The webinar focused mainly on subscription conditions, mechanisms for transferring funds to the public treasury, the advantages for the diaspora to participate in this investment, communication around the project, etc. At the end of the session, Karamoko Jean Marie Traoré recalled the importance of this form of endogenous financing.
