Electronics and Posts (ARCEP) announced Friday, February 20, 2026 at
Through a press release, the introduction of important changes in billing
mobile services in Togo.
The announcement made by ARCEP concerns conservation
the volume of packages not consumed, the accuracy in the billing of
internet services and the extension of the validity period of SIM cards. For the
conservation of the volumes of packages not consumed, the institution indicates that
consumers will now be able to find their package volumes (voice
and internet) not used within a completed period: 10 days for
offers whose validity is less than or equal to 10 days, and 30 days for
those whose validity exceeds 10 days. In case of subscription to several
packages simultaneously, the countdown prioritizes those whose validity or deadline
conservation station is the closest.
With respect to billing for services
mobile internet, ARCEP now establishes the use of the byte as
unique counting unit, ensuring that the volume consumed corresponds
exactly at the volume invoiced, making Togo the only country in the sub-region to
apply this level of precision.
By the way, the lifespan of SIM cards unused now goes from three to six months.
These measures are aimed at reducing the feeling
of exhaustion of packages and to improve the overall experience of
consumers.
