The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank a approved on October 29, 2025 in Abidjan an exceptional allocation of six million US dollars to support the Pan African Mutual of risk management.

African Development Bank grants a donation $6 million for capacity building and funding of disaster risks in Africa for the period 2025-2026. This gift of a Just over 3,400,000,000 FCFA comes from the Financing Program for disaster risks in Africa (ADRiFi). It will allow the ARC to maintain essential capacity building and financing services for disaster risks in favor of the Bank's regional member countries on the period 2025-2026. Among the direct beneficiaries are decision makers in terms of policies, technical working groups and officials who will receive technical assistance in the areas of quantification and assessment of disaster risks, plans emergency, disaster risk financing, the inclusion of women, monitoring and evaluation.

The first component of the project includes strengthen the technical expertise and institutional capacities of the authorities national audiences in disaster risk management. She puts an emphasis on the establishment of stronger risk assessment frameworks, evidence-based, improving early warning systems and the provision of decision-makers with the skills needed to implement effective disaster risk management solutions.

The second component is aimed at helping member countries to move from reactive disaster response to disaster preparedness proactive by improving emergency planning and resource allocation and institutional response mechanisms.

The project will be implemented in all ARC member states, with an emphasis on regions that are very vulnerable to droughts, floods, tropical cyclones and epidemics.
