UBA-Mali, in partnership with Sama officially launched On Thursday 16 January in Bamako Sama Money, its
innovative money transfer and mobile payment service.
"Sama" means elephant in Bamanankan. Its imposing build makes it one of the most
animals Impressive. By associating it with "Money", UBA-Mali is betting on imposing itself on the mobile
banking. Implementing Sama Money in this arena responds to the concern of the youngest of the banks
To improve the rate of banking in Mali, already estimated at 23.3% in 2018 according to a report by the
BCEAO. Sama Money is a service that allows you to receive and send money up to
two million FCFA, day and night, from his mobile.
Other platforms of this kind exist. However, what makes the difference with Sama Money is its
accessibility via all telephone operators. Thus the user can perform operations of
payment for ISAGO top-up, telephone credit and TV subscription with Orange, Malitel or Télécel.
And this with or without internet connection, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The same operations can be performed on the social network Whatsapp. "In Africa, the future of
finance is digital. Sama by UBA is the fruit of Malian genius. In nine months of pilot phase, we have
today 3000 distribution points including 2000 already operational. The platform already has more than 80<000br/> customers," explains Daouda Coulibaly, Managing Director of Sama Money.
"We continue to deploy innovative technologies to satisfy our 18,000 customers. Launch
sama Money confirms that UBA understands consumer trends," said Alhassane
Sissoko, Managing Director of UBA-Mali.
FinTech proposes to expand its activities to the countries of the subregion and France.
