The Ghanaian government and the World Bank have signed 4 loan agreements worth $569.7 million,
for the financing of projects relating to the business climate, education, sanitation and preservation
of the forest.
The signing of the agreement took place on Friday, January 17, 2020, between ghanaian Minister of Finance Ken
Ofori-Atta (photo), and Pierre Laporte, World Bank Resident Representative.
The first $200 million agreement is intended to improve the business environment for< > promote private investment as well as new sectors of activity.
At an estimated cost of $150 million, the second agreement concerns the improvement of the quality of education.
The third agreement, worth $200 million, aims to finance sanitation policies and
to combat the risk of flooding in the city of Accra.
As for the latest agreement, which includes a $12.7 million grant and a $7 million loan, it aims to
finance forest conservation policies in Ghana's high forest area.
