The Minister of Health and Public Hygiene, Dr. Ibrahima Sy said that Senegal aspires to become a regional model by in terms of health governance and the management of public funding.

Dr. Ibrahima Sy was speaking at the meeting of high level on aligning Global Fund funding to systems national authorities in charge of public finances. The Minister of Health and Public Health invited “to optimize the allocation of resources, so that each franc invested meets the real needs of the populations.” He also called for the improvement of the management of funding, by consolidating “the transparency and performance of our systems and increasing accountability and trust, through control rigorous and reinforced supervision of interventions”.

The chief of staff of the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Cooperation Gorgui Fall has for his part highlighted the development of “more dynamic” financial instruments and more adapted to the realities of this priority sector based on mechanisms incentives that promote tangible results
