Niger-Steel Group Company Limited (SASU) officially opened a concrete iron manufacturing plant in Badaguichiri on 8 August 2024.

Niger is taking a new step in its industrialization process. The project to build a concrete iron factory, supported by the promotional regime of the Investment Code, is also expected to generate 148 permanent jobs and reduce Niger's dependence on iron for concrete imports. This new factory is located within the walls of the Badaguichiri cement plant will contribute to boosting the local economy by creating jobs and promoting the development of activities related to building and public works. It will also make it possible to strengthen trade between Niger and China, the country of origin of the Niger-Steel company. This launch marks a turning point for Niger, which now has local production resources to meet its concrete iron needs.
