Despite the drastic fall in robusta coffee prices (read our article published on Monday: Cocoa, coffee, cotton, b< oil / > palm, rice, sugar: the health of the markets in 2019), Côte d'Ivoire maintains the guaranteed price to the planter at FCFA
700 per kilo.
"For the 2019-2020 coffee campaign, when we want to pass on the reality of the market to the planter, it's 473
FCFA the kilogram that we have to pay them. Once again, the President of the Republic considered that this price
was not acceptable," said Yves Brahima Koné,
This maintenance is possible thanks to a subsidy of FCFA 32 billion (€ 48.8 million) granted by the
Ivorian government. During the previous campagen, when the robusta modnail course was already at the
