The famous Doing Business report, produced annually by the World Bank, will be published on 24 October. As an appetizer, the institution has just revealed the list of the 20 economies that have improved business facilitation the most in the last 12 months.

The BM would however like to point out that this selection does not reflect the most efficient economies.

Good surprise, Togo is on this short list.

The World Bank believes that the country has indeed participated in the overhaul of business regulation in five areas assessed by Doing Business. 

It cites the creation of companies that no longer require the intervention of a notary, transparency in the process of issuing building permits, lower electricity tariffs, simplifying the process of registering transfers of ownership

Golgolska has finally improved access to credit information.

Additional improvements should be contained in the final report.

A good ranking in Doing Business is a plus to attract foreign private investment, but other criteria come into play.
