The Technical Commission for Common Policies of the Union (CTPC) of the WAEMU Regional Consular Chamber (JRC-UEMOA) held its second  annual meeting from 07 to 08 October 2019 in Lomé.

The meeting, moderated by representatives of the ECOWAS and UEMOA Commissions, provided an opportunity to discuss the theme "The ECOWAS single currency, the ECO: challenges and future prospects for the Union's companies".

A theme that, according to Mr. Amétépé Kossi GLE, Second Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Togo (CCIT), representing the President of the JRC-UEMOA, is of great importance for the community private sector.

The theme was the subject of several communications concerning, in particular on the real opportunities for the implementation of the ECOWAS single currency; the state   of  play of  monetary cooperation between the  different currencies existing in the ECOWAS area; the WAEMU strategy for move from FCFA to ECO.
