The President of the Transition, Army General Assimi This Monday, November 3, 2025, Goïta inaugurated the second major lithium mine of the country, operated by Les Mines de Lithium de Bougouni SA (LMLB SA). This major event occurs less than a year after the opening of the first mine of lithium in N'galamina.

The ceremony was held in the presence of numerous partners from Mali, in particular from the representative of the embassy of the People's Republic of China, as well as administrative and customary authorities in the region of Bougouni.

Taking the floor, N'Togo Diakité, head of the village of Bougouni, expressed his gratitude to the Head of State: “This project not only brings work and roads, but also the pride of being in the heart of the new Mali. We pray that this mine will be a blessing for our children and not a source of division.”

The Minister of Mines, Professor Amadou Keita, emphasized the symbolic significance of this inauguration. ” In less than a year, the Head of State carried out three high-level visits in the Bougouni region: after the Tiakadougou-Dialakoro solar power plant and the first lithium mine in Goulamina, here is today the one in Bougouni ”, he recalled.
