On Tuesday, February 17, 2026, last Tuesday, February 17, 2026, the representative for Central Africa from Organization Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF), Alphonse Waguena was in audience with the Minister of Justice, Keeper of the Seals in charge of human rights, Augustin Emane. The opportunity allowed us to explore the mechanisms to fight corruption and prospects for cooperation between Gabon and the organization.

The representative of the OIF presented the main axes of activities planned as part of the annual programming 2026. the Gabonese Minister of Justice indicated that the fight against corruption is among the government's priorities. He expressed the availability of the Gabon to strengthen its collaboration with the organization, in order to consolidate cooperation projects considered beneficial for the country. For his part, Alphonse Waguena assured that the OIF will support Gabon in this field, by putting contribution its technical expertise as well as its financial support.

Discussions have also referred to the establishment of appropriate mechanisms, including a anti-corruption alert system intended to contribute to the eradication of phenomenon at all levels.
