On Thursday, February 5, 2026, was held in Abidjan-Plateau, a workshop to return the pre-feasibility study relating to the creation of a center for the treatment and recycling of used oils in N'Dotré. The workshop is organized under the collaboration of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Craft, with the Bank African Development (Bad) and the Korean Institute of environmental technology and industry (Keiti).

The creation of a treatment center and recycling used oils in N'Dotré is presented as a strong project environmental, economic and social impact. The future center aims to reduce groundwater pollution caused by waste oils, while transforming this dangerous waste into a real economic resource. According to Raymond Laurent Assoua, chief of staff of the Minister of Commerce, of Industry and Crafts, the initiative responds to an emergency environmental. According to him, “a single drop of used oil can contaminate thousands of liters of water. It was therefore imperative to act.”

During the study, the experts proposed several treatment methods, before selecting the solution the more adapted to the Ivorian context. The study went so far as to analyze the unit capacity, ramp-up scenarios, as well as the financial pre-feasibility, integrating public, private and mixed.
