In accordance with the commitment made in the framework of a partnership in November 2018 between Banque Atlantique, a subsidiary of the Banque Centrale Populaire group, and the Renewable Energy Agency (AER) of Mali, Mr. Habib BLEDOU, Chief Executive Officer of Banque Atlantique, officially inaugurated a set of social facilities financed by the bank in the profit of the populations of Kéniébougou, in the region of Ségou.

The ceremony took place in the presence of Mr. Souleymane BERTHE, Director General of the EAR, representing the Minister of Energy and Water; Dramane DIAKITÉ, Prefect of Ségou, representing the Governor of Ségou; Sékou KANE, 1st Deputy Mayor of Konodimini, Brahima TRAORÉ, Chief of the Village of Kéniébougou.

As part of this agreement, Banque Atlantique has financed basic social infrastructure in terms of drinking water as well as reliable, sustainable and environmentally friendly energy, while at the same time facilitating access to the health and education system.

Located 35 km from the city of Ségou with a population of about 1000 souls, KENIEBOUGOU benefits from the electrification of its health center and elementary schools, the installation of solar street lights for public lighting, the supply of dryers and finally the installation of drinking water supply systems. 

The Renewable Energy Agency of Mali (AER), technical partner of the operation ensured the implementation of training activities for users and local technicians for the maintenance of equipment.
