In order to ensure the coverage of the financing needs of its budget, the State of Senegal succeeded this Friday, October 10, 2025 on the UEMOA financial market the sum of 44 billion CFA francs at the end of its 364-day auction of assimilable treasury bills and 3- and 5-year equivalent treasury bonds.

The issuer had put up for auction the sum of 40 billion FCFA. At the end of the transaction, the investors made global submissions of 69.688 billion FCFA. This gives a rate of coverage of 174.22%. The amount of The successful bids were 44 billion CFA francs and the one rejected was 25,688 CFA francs. billion FCFA. This corresponds to an absorption rate of 63.14%.

Investors whose bids were successful, will find with a weighted average return of 7.18% for the good ones, 7.62% for 3-year bonds and 7.49% for 5-year bonds.

The Public Treasury intends to repay the bonds issued first business day following the due date of October 11, 2026. The interests are payable in advance and deducted from the nominal value of the vouchers.

With regard to the repayment of the principal of bonds, It is scheduled for the due date set on October 13, 2028 for those of 3 years and on October 13, 2030 for those aged 5. Interest will be paid annually based on a rate of 6.30% for 3-year bonds and 6.45% for those aged 5, starting at the end of the first year.
