AITEO Eastern E&P said the leak was reported on Monday during routine operations in the Nembe region of the oil-rich Nigerian state of Bayelsa. The Nembe Creek facility is the largest of 11 fields in an oil concession operated by Aiteo, which also produces significant volumes of natural gas that feeds Nigeria's LNG plant on Bonny Island. According to Aiteo, the cause of the leak has not been determined. For the latter, added that the cessation of exploitation was a precautionary measure aimed at containing the spill
