The CEO of the oil and gas company, Toufik Hakkar announced that Sonatrach Group intends to increase oil production from 45,000 barrels/day currently, to 80,000 barrels/day by 2026.

Toufik Hakkar said that production capacity around the region, which has increased thanks to continuous well drilling operations since 2016, has increased from 5,000 barrels/day to 45,000 barrels/day currently and is expected to reach more than 60,000 barrels/ days in 2023 then 80,000 barrels/day by 2026. He inspected numerous development projects in Touggourt. According to Toufik Hakkar, these projects were carried out by Sonatrach subsidiaries, in particular the National Enterprise for Large Petroleum Works (ENGTP), the Société Algérie de Réalisation de Projets Industriels (SARPI) and the National Society for Civil Engineering and Building (GCB).

For him, 40 wells are operated through the Touggourt infrastructures and 22 additional wells will be connected to all their facilities and the supply of remote control devices to reach the targeted production capacity of 80,000 barrels/day.
