record. Investors strengthen their safe haven positions after
US President Donald Trump has renewed his threat of tariffs against
China.
Spot gold rose by 1.4% to
$4,074.02 per ounce at 08:25 GMT, after reaching a record of
$4,078.05/oz.
American gold futures for
deliveries in December increased by 2.3% to $4,093.50.
On Friday, Donald Trump rekindled the war
trade between the United States and China, threatening to impose tariffs
100% customs on imports of Chinese products and announcing
new export controls on strategic software by
November 1st. This decision follows the limitation by Beijing of
exports of critical minerals.
The ingot, which does not generate returns, has
increased by 53% since the start of the year, supported by risks
geopolitics, the massive purchase of gold by central banks, flows to
exchange-traded funds, Fed rate cuts expectations, and
economic uncertainties related to prices.
Money has also jumped to a level never seen before,
following the upward trend in gold. Cash has jumped by
2.2% to $51.37/oz, after reaching $51.70/oz, driven by
the same factors as gold, as well as by a tension on the market in
counting.
Platinum increased by 3.3% to $1,639.50, while palladium gained 2.9% at $1,446.48
