Copper prices in China fell on Wednesday.
The most traded copper contract on SHFE has
fell by 0.65% to 100,580 yuan ($14,440.15) per metric ton at 03:30 GMT.

The SHFE announced on Tuesday that it would increase the
margin ratios and would expand daily price limits for some
metals, including copper, aluminum, gold, and futures contracts

Copper in Shanghai has gained 1.58% since the start
of the year, after setting a record of 105,870 yuan per ton.

sluggish consumer demand, as its price remains high.

its lowest level since the end of July 2024.
Elsewhere, pewter was the only base metal in
advance among SHFE metals, with the most active contract increasing by
1.79% at 402,600 yuan per ton, while it posted the highest
increases on the LME, up 2.20% to 50,500 dollars per ton.
Among other SHFE base metals, aluminum has
fell by 0.35%, zinc lost 0.68%, lead fell by 0.81% and the
nickel fell by 1.16%.
On the LME, aluminum has increased by 0.64%, zinc by 0.33%, lead by 0.27% and nickel by 1.08 %.
