Buoyed by Federal Reserve bets American on a fall in rates and thanks to a weaker dollar, gold reached Monday its lowest level in more than four months, at around $30 off historical highs.

Spot gold was up 0.7% at 3,471.28 dollars per ounce at 11:41 GMT, its highest level since April 22, when had reached a record of $3,500.05. Gold Futures Contracts American for delivery in December gained 0.8% to 3,543.70 dollars.

Gold hit a record price of $3,468.80 during the LBMA stock exchange morning auction, while the money reached a 14-year high of $40.75, said the LBMA

The price of cash jumped 2.1% to 40.49 dollars per ounce, its highest level since September 2011.

Elsewhere, platinum has gained 2.4% to $1,397.49 and palladium added 0.8% to $1,117.98
