The inflation rate rose by 0.22%  in September 2019, three consecutive months of increase, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said in recent figures. In September the inflation rate reached 11.24% against 11.02% in August and 11.08% in July, reports the same source.

 

This increase in the price of services and products is taking place in a context of closure of the land border with Benin decided on August 20, 2019 by Nigerian President  Muhammadu Buhari. A decision supposed to fight against the smuggling of certain products such as fuel also protect local agriculture through the blocking of rice imports.
