The country's rating remains more than ever linked to the possible negotiations of the junta with ECOWAS. According to Moody's, this deterioration is the result of the default recorded by Bamako on January 28, 2022 on the Public Securities Market (MTP) of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA). Moody's also lowered the long-term caps in local currency (LC) and foreign currency (FC) to B2 and B3, from B1 and B2 respectively.
