This Friday, Morocco takes another major step forward in digital development by operationalizing its 5G network. The three national operators, Maroc Telecom (IAM), Orange and Inwi, have officially launched their 5G networks, propelling the Kingdom into a new era of very high speed connectivity.

The deployment of this fifth generation of technology mobile is the result of an ambitious national strategy, aimed at making Morocco a regional digital hub. In line with the Agency's road map National Telecommunications Regulation (ANRT), coverage initial will involve eight major cities and their airports, before expanding progressively to reach 25% of the population by the end of 2026 and 70% at the horizon 2030. Orange Morocco has already announced coverage in more of a hundred localities.

This launch takes place in a market of particularly dynamic and competitive Moroccan telecommunications, including the global turnover was estimated at 36 billion dirhams in 2024, according to Maroc Telecom. Market shares in the mobile segment are very disputed between Orange (34.14%), inwi (33.23%) and Maroc Telecom (32.63%), according to the ANRT, a configuration that promises beneficial emulation for consumers and businesses.
