The gold price strengthened above its lowest level in more than three months on Monday. And for good reason, concerns about political turmoil in Russia have prompted investors to turn to safe haven stocks, outweighing the risks associated with the Federal Reserve's optimistic outlook

Spot gold was up 0.1% at $1,923.61 per ounce at 10:26 a.m. EDT (1426 GMT), while gold futures rose 0.2% to $1,933.90. The bullion fell nearly 2% over the previous week and hit its lowest level since mid-March on Friday, as optimistic comments from Fed officials announced further rate hikes to bring soaring inflation

Cash rose 1.5% to $22.76 per ounce, while platinum rose 0.9% to $926.21. Palladium jumped 2.4% to $1,316.22, after reaching its lowest level in four years last week
