Oragroup announced on Thursday 16 January that it had successfully closed, on 4 December, its 100% subscribed commercial paper issue for a total amount of 35 billion CFA francs (53.3 million euros). 

"This issue, launched on 5 November 2019 by public offering on the regional money market of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU), is the first since its listing on the Regional Stock Exchange (BRVM) in April 2019," recalls the banking group based in Lomé. The duration of the loan over 2 years ensures an interest rate of 6.10% gross per year, he adds. 

Subscriptions, it is said, were mainly made by institutions, with a significant share for natural persons. They were carried out largely in Togo, Burkina Faso, Senegal and Benin relayed by the Orabank Group network and its trading room in Togo. "This support represents a strong sign of confidence in Oragroup, its financial performance, its business model and its growth strategy. This new operation creates value for investors will allow us to continue our development in the service of our customers and the financing of regional economies," said Ferdinand Ngon Kemoum, Ceo of Oragroup quoted in a statement. 

 
Arranged by SGI Togo and CGF Bourse, the transaction was  guaranteed 100% in interest and capital by African Guarantee Fund (AGF West Africa).

As a reminder, the bank had already carried out, in 2016 and 2017,  an issue of commercial paper in two tranches amounting to 35 billion CFA francs by public offering on the regional money market.
