Prime Minister Komi Selom Klassou is taking part in the 'Compact Africa', an initiative
German to foster private investment in Africa.
Last year, Chancellor Angela Merkel announced the creation of a €1 billion fund
supposed to encourage investment by German and European small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs

private investment.

The Pact differs from previous initiatives by explicitly focusing on facilitating
private investment.

Rather than relying on official development assistance flows, it seeks to create a new
a dynamic in which African governments work with their partners to target
key reforms to attract domestic and foreign private investment.
The pact also reflects the fact that public resources are scarce and that only growth driven by b The private sector can meet the aspirations of the continent and its young population to create
sufficiently well-paid jobs.

For Togo, this cooperation format corresponds exactly to the strategy contained in the plan
65% focused on the use of private investment.
In addition to the head of government, the delegation also includes the Minister of Foreign Affairs,
Robert Dussey.
