This Friday, the main benchmarks changed little. U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude rose 10 cents, or 0.1%, to $80.49 per barrel. Brent crude was stable at $84.12 per barrel starting at 0205 GMT. The U.S. Federal Reserve's focus on controlling inflation amid stronger than expected economic data has maintained a lid on oil prices.
Investors fear that rising borrowing costs will hamper economic growth and reduce overall demand, including for oil.
