At a press conference this morning, the national network  of money transfer providers deplored the scandalous practices of banks. 
"We have been denouncing since 2012 the unfortunate  consequences arising from the failure to properly address the problems related to this activity, which results in the bankruptcy of money transfer operators who lose  colossal sums, customers who no longer know which saint to dedicate themselves to ," said Khalil Guèye, the network's president.

Khalil Guèye explains the source of the evil by the simple fact that "the authorities are turning a deaf ear to the incessant arrests of the Renepta which demands compliance with the regulations, in particular Instruction 13 of the BCEAO which has entered into force since 2016, but which has never been applied." The president continues  , "all that interests the banks are the commissions derived from the transactions, but they refuse that his sub-agent can make IBAN withdrawals in their branches".

With this practice that they consider scandalous, Khalil Guèye to emphasize that "it is more than 300 direct jobs and 60,000 indirect jobs that are threatened". He therefore urges the authorities to take up this issue on their own. "We ask the state to take its responsibilities to avoid giving a bad signal to investors and worrying about threats to the social climate," concludes President Khalil Guèye.
