The Burkinabe Council of Ministers approved on Thursday 04 September 2025, in a regular session, a loan agreement of 187,830,000 euros (about 220 million USD) at the Bank Islamic Development Agency (IDB) for road works. This facility that is accompanied by a national contribution of 25,810,000 euros (140.1 billion) FCFA), will be used, among other things, to rehabilitate critical sections in order to to improve the national supply chain, with a domino effect on flows regionals.

The council approved the ratification of a loan agreement, a framework agreement, a mandate agreement and of a technical assistance agreement, signed on June 17, 2025 between Burkina Faso and the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) for the financing of Project for the rehabilitation of infrastructure supporting the economy (PRISE).

The overall cost of this project is estimated at 213,640,000 euros, or 140 138 653 480 F CFA distributed as follows:

25 810 000 euros, or 16 930 250 170 F CFA, representing The counterparty national;

187,830,000 euros, or 123,208,403,310 CFA francs, financed by the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), subject to ratification.

The objective of this Project to rehabilitate infrastructure is to contribute to the improvement of the supply chain national and regional transport in order to stimulate trade inter-regional through improved road service levels communitarian. The duration of the project is four (04) years.

The project will be carried out for the benefit of the populations of urban and rural municipalities in the regions of Tannounyan, Nakambé, Nando, Nazinon, Oubri, Yaadga and Djôrô.

The PRISE will allow, among other things:

the rehabilitation of 187.8 km of road;

the partial financing of construction and Asphalting of the Koudougou-Yako section on national road No. 13 (RN13)

;

the acquisition of five (05) road works brigades with two (02) asphalt plants manufactured locally.
