Forage operators from the six countries of intervention by PRAPS-2 (Burkina Faso, Mali, Mali, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal, Chad), representatives of the national services concerned, experts from project at the regional and national levels, as well as implementation partners Work (IRAM, UEMOA and IRED) met from 27 to 30 October 2025 in Nouakchott in Mauritania.

At the end of the four days of work, several deliverables have been finalized and validated, including capitalization notes on the experiences of fodder crops and land security of pastoral paths, success story sheets illustrating achievements, as well that a regional road map to continue the process of capitalization and promote the scaling up of successful interventions.
Financed to the tune of 297.73 billion CFA francs (517 million dollars) (US) by the World Bank and the participating States, PRAPS-2 deploys actions to promote fodder crops as a fundamental response to livestock feed deficits during lean periods and shocks climate change, as part of its strategic focus on the sustainable management of natural resources.
The project reinforces land governance approaches, as a lever essential to guarantee secure access for shepherds to rangelands in the Sahel and in West Africa.

PRAPS-2 works to strengthen resilience shepherds and agropastoralists in certain targeted areas of the Sahel. Sa regional coordination is provided by the Standing Inter-State Committee for Wrestling against drought in the Sahel (CILSS).
