In order to strengthen its governance territorial, the Nigerien government appointed 55 municipal receivers to across the country.

The Nigerian government aims to restore transparency, boost municipal revenue and tax local, a lever for inclusive development, at the heart of the Refoundation Republican. 55 new municipal receivers, now deployed on the whole of the national territory. This wave of designations, endorsed by ministerial decree and signed by the Minister of State in charge of the Interior, of Public Security and Territorial Administration, the General of Division Mohamed Toumba, marks a decisive step in the modernization of local tax services.

The new receivers municipalities cover a wide geographic spectrum, ranging from urban centers dynamic in the most landlocked rural areas. From Niamey to Zinder, by way by Dosso, Tahoua, Maradi, Maradi, Agadez, Tillabéri and Diffa, this reorganization guarantees an increased presence of the State in local authorities. Elle concerns both urban municipalities, which are confronted with economic flows supported, only rural entities, where the mobilization of local resources remains essential to support agriculture and basic infrastructure.
