The ECOWAS Investment and Development Bank (BIDC) and the Government of Guinea signed two loan agreements worth a total of 62.77 million USD.

The agreements signed by Dr. George Agyekum Donkor, President of the BIDC and its Board of Directors and Mourana Soumah, Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Guinea, and Mourana Soumah, Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Guinea mark the first phase of a global agreement worth USD 307 million. This aims to strengthen infrastructure and rural development in Guinea. The first agreement is a $28.4 million loan to provide drinking water supply systems to 205,204 people in the cities of Beyla, Fria and Koubia by 2035. The second is a $34.3 million loan for the construction of 150 boreholes equipped with hand pumps and the supply of 100 drinking water supply systems in Upper Guinea and Forest Guinea, in order to improve the living conditions of local populations
