The managing director of the National Society of marketing of oilseeds from Senegal (Sonacos) indicated that the company obtained credits from the State in the amount of 25 billion CFA francs for the renewal of the industrial platform of its factory Diourbel (center).

In the 2026 Finance Act, the authorities have granted a budget of 25 billion CFA francs to Sonacos, corresponding according to El Hadji Ndane Diagne to the needs for the renewal of infrastructures and factories, in order to increase our peanut processing capacity produced in Senegal. For the latter, with the support of his excellence the President of the Republic and his Prime Minister, we are going to enhance the Diourbel industrial platform”.

According to the CEO of Sonacos, the installation of new oil presses in Diourbel will lead to the transition from the husking stage to that of trituration, passing progressively towards future refining and packaging phases.

Sonacos plans to consolidate its position by as a key player in food sovereignty in Senegal, particularly by guaranteeing independence in the production of table oil, he specified.

With regard to the next sales campaign of peanut, El Hadji Ndane DIAGNE affirmed that the company is entirely prepared and aims to reach an unprecedented level of collection.
