On Monday, November 10, 2025 the Ministry of Finance of Ghana announced the signing of a bilateral agreement to restructure its debt with Germany.

The agreement signed between Ghana and Germany is the sixth concluded by Accra, as part of the restructuring program of the current debt. This agreement complements those already sealed with the United Kingdom, France and the Export-Import Bank of China, in the process of restoring macroeconomic stability and the viability of debt.

Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, the Minister of Finance at hailed this step as “important” in the recovery process economic situation in Ghana”, stressing that it will contribute to “strengthening the foundations of fiscal stability and to anchor long-term economic progress term”.

The German Ambassador to Ghana, Frederik Landshöft, for his part, congratulated Minister Forson for the progress made. in stabilizing the economy and reaffirmed Berlin's commitment to deepen bilateral and economic cooperation.
